Power Challenge presents Power Racing!

June 14, 2008

Power Challenge Announces Power Racing

The crew have been working hard to create a new site called power racing.

The site address to the prelaunch site is:

racing.powerchallenge.com

The address to the Power Racing developer’s blog is:

blog.powerchallenge.com/category/power-racing

Power Racing will treat multiplayers to the excitement and perils of real automotive physics and tracks of varying difficulty levels. The game combines European style, American muscle and Asian-street flair with astounding graphics, personalization and controls, and robust community features.

“The advanced 3D graphics in development for this new World Tour Car Championship-style game are unmatched in web-based gaming,” said Johan Christenson, chief executive officer of Power Challenge. “Power Racing offers an instantaneous, realistic, and thrilling driving experience on par with today’s console-based games, but without the need for time-consuming downloads and expensive gear. We believe Power Racing will quickly become the premier online gaming destination for racing and gaming enthusiasts alike.”

Racers can customize car designs and engine types inside their virtual garages, send instant challenges to buddies and other Power Racing members, and enter worldwide racing championships. Other social features include buddy lists, chats, forums, and guest books. Players can also share driving tactics and conduct polls. Additionally, they can share racing stats and video clips of exciting Power Racing moments on You Tube, My Space, and Face book.

Power Racing will be compatible with USB standard game pads and racing wheels to enhance the user experience. For screenshots and to view a demo of Power Racing, visit http://www.powerchallenge.com/racing.

This summer the CREW will release the open beta of Power Racing.

Later in the autumn the full release will launched with all planned features.

Powdersnow’s List of Features – Important

May 26, 2008

Some people think that (Crew) aren’t very active in the Forums. At first i thought they weren’t very active myself, but then one of the crew members Powdersnow replied me with a fantastic explanation here is what he said :

it takes a whole lot of time to answer posts, but very little time to read it. I personally try to be quite active in the forums and I see many crew members are too. The reason we don’t answer posts in the feature request forum is partly that it would demand some pretty steep resources to do that, but partly also because we do not want to get too involved in the users opinions: if we, as crew, start telling users what we think is a good idea and what isn’t, then that would have a negative impact in that people would start telling us “what we want to hear” in stead of what they actually want!

It must be said though, that we can’t read the feature request forum on a daily basis, there is too much information in there for that. What we do instead is this: when we do our planning for the future (perhaps twice each year) we flick through the feature request forums to get a grip of what the users seem to want. I find this a much more efficient solution for us, and one that can actually yield some results.

Roughly two months ago now, I took myself a trip to the feature request forum and spent half a day trying to figure out what people requested the most. I came up with this list, which I distilled and discussed with my superiors (just to reassure you that we DO read the forums):

_________________________________________
- Clans (competitions, rank, clan page, clan badge)
- Practice free kicks and corners
- referee on the field
- yellow and red cards
- several more pre-chosen strategies (that you can choose while playing)
- talents
- substitutions
- more statistics
- injuries
- player trading
- Player ageing
- choosable player faces
- More uniforms
- new language (please specify which)
- voice chat
- more levels after 99
- more stadiums
- weather conditions and day/night matches
- create/design your own fans
- more dribbles
- goal celebrations
- “report this user”-function
- choose sponsor for your team
- customizable soccer balls
- choose a captain (arm band)
- mercy button (forfeiting)
- spectators able to chat and see what the players say
- remove commercials for CM
- create your own formation
- yearly World and continental cups
- choose penalty takers
- before penalties, extra time in cups when tie
- one more (substitute) keeper
- customizable shoes
- customisable soccer balls
- line referee who runs along the offside line
- remove “x”-spot where ball lands (for more unpredictable gameplay)
- at beginning of match, show best scorer and best tackler from each team
- one weekly 500 player cup
- win trophies in cups, leagues and tournaments (displayed in a trophy case)
- completely editable player names (rather than just nicknames)

After this i thought they certainly are active.
